“The Americas,” “Suits LA” and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” Premieres Reach 15 Million Viewers Across NBC
- On Sunday, Feb. 23, NBC premiered three all-new primetime shows, “The Americas,” “Suits LA” and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” and reached 15 million total viewers across NBC.
- The triple-header not only drove enormous reach and engagement for the company, but saw a massive return for advertisers.
- It would have taken 10 ads on competitive broadcast and cable prime entertainment to deliver the same search impact as one ad in NBC’s February 23 primetime lineup.
- Viewers of NBC of the three primetime series were +48% more likely to search for brands advertised than viewers of competitive broadcast and cable prime entertainment season-to-date.
- Brands who advertised across these telecasts had a +50% likeability and saw double-digit strength over competitors across all memorability metrics, including Ad Memorability (+21%), Brand Memorability (+29%) and Message Memorability (+35%).
- On Sunday, Feb. 23, NBC was the #1 most-social primetime network, based on social interactions across ad-supported broadcast and cable television.
- With all three shows produced in-house by Universal Studio Group, NBC successfully launched a record-breaking new night of original entertainment programming and set a record as the most-watched Sunday night of entertainment programming in nearly six years.
- Additionally, each show delivered strong results for company individually:
- Including NBC, Peacock and the NBCUniversal cable networks – Bravo, E!, SYFY, USA and CNBC – the premiere episode of “The Americas” amassed 6.7 million viewers (L3) and stands as the most-watched nature documentary on linear television in more than 15 years. While nature documentaries have thrived on cable and public broadcasting during this time, they’ve been largely absent from the major broadcast networks until now.
- The 6.7 million viewers on for its 7 p.m. episode and 6.1 million for the 8 p.m. episode, it’s the best 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. timeslot performance for an entertainment series on NBC in nearly seven years.
- On NBC and across Peacock, both “Suits LA” and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” saw impressive gains vs. their linear telecasts. They both jumped nearly 2X in total viewers (+87%/+90%) and more than 3X in the 18-49 demo (+213%/+216%).
