New York, NY – May 24, 2023 — NBCUniversal announced today it has been awarded the TAG Brand Safety Certified Seal across all its global network of properties, including Peacock. The Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) is a globally recognized organization leading the charge to fight criminal activity and protect brand safety in digital advertising. NBCUniversal’s global certification demonstrates its commitment to being the most trusted and transparent partner to advertisers worldwide.
TAG certification has been established as a baseline expectation for trusted partners across the digital advertising industry. The TAG Brand Safety Certified Program is designed to accommodate the increasing needs of global advertisers who demand greater control over the suitability of their advertising campaigns.
While many brands are TAG Brand Safety Certified, it is often completed at the regional or national level, which can be done via a self-certification process. To become globally certified, NBCUniversal underwent an independent audit, which reviewed policies, training procedures, back-end systems, monitoring tools, content reviews, and more, to ensure that all operations met the in-depth criteria to receive the certification.
