New York, NY – November 21, 2023 — On Thursday, November 23rd during the live broadcast of the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® in New York City, NBCUniversal, Google and Macy’s will team up with the world-famous Radio City Rockettes in documenting their favorite holiday moments using the brand-new Google Pixel 8 smartphones and its AI-powered camera features.
- In a series of three 30-second custom commercial spots, produced by the NBCU Creative Partnerships team in collaboration with Google’s creative team, viewers will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look at how the Radio City Rockettes prepare for their Thanksgiving Day performance. The spots will feature Google Pixel 8’s new Google AI-powered camera features like Audio Magic Eraser, Best Take, and Magic Editor, providing inspiration for how families can enhance their own photos this holiday season.
- With just a few taps using the Audio Magic Eraser*, unwanted sounds will be identified to reduce distracting noises from videos.
- Best Take** helps to achieve the perfect group shot by using a series of similar photos taken within seconds of each other to create an image with everyone’s best expression. To use another expression, simply select the preferred take manually.
- And Magic Editor**, a new experimental Google Photos editing experience announced earlier this year, uses generative AI technology to help you easily make edits to your photos more intuitive using resizing, repositioning, and contextual suggestions to improve the lighting and background of the image.
- This is the second year in a row that NBCUniversal, Google and Macy’s are coming together to connect with audiences during this beloved holiday program. Google’s custom campaign spots will run during the live broadcast of the parade on NBC, translated for Spanish audiences during Telemundo’s broadcast and livestreamed on Peacock.
- Plus, Google’s special holiday spot “La Foto,” will premiere for the first time in English-language programming during the parade broadcast which features a man meeting his girlfriend’s Spanish-language family for the first-time. Using Google Pixel 8 AI-powered camera feature Best Take**, he connects with her family by helping them photograph their best family holiday photo.
- Google Pixel will be the first partner to utilize NBCUniversal’s Spotlight+, a brand-new ad innovation announced at the Peacock NewFront earlier this year, which will enable these custom spots, as well as Google’s brand spots, to show up across all screens including linear, Peacock, and third-party digital platforms, maximizing impact throughout Thanksgiving Day.
